Since this Tuesday, June 20, will be the closest Tuesday night to the Solstice, what do people think about the Tuesday Nighht Ride's Solstice Ride? We could start a bit late to make sure everybody (read Becky) could join us, extend the ride a bit, and enjoy the fact that we'll have sun until 9:30 or later!
That's TNRSR for those who are paying attention to their acronyms.
We could do *both* the St. Paul and the Minneapolis routes, back to back - St. Paul first, cutting over at Marshall/Lake and then doing the Minneapolis route. Since we cross right back by the starting point about 2/3 of the way into the St. Paul ride, anybody who wanted to join us late could be waiting at the Monument a little before 8:00 and catch us as we pass back by. It would make it about 1:45 total riding time, so even leaving a little late we'd be done around 9:00, with time to enjoy a coffee and/or cheese sandwich before the sun sets.
Opinions? The Solstice comes but twice a year, and most scooterists for some reason don't like riding around the one in December, so this is our chance to make the most of it.
Oh, and I don't think I know the St. Paul route yet, so it's a non-start if Robert doesn't like the idea. Come to think of it, we only need him for the first 45 minutes or so, then we're golden - everybody knows the Minneapolis route. |

I'm game. Good thing Robert didn't crash and burn on the last TNR...

Oh you people.
Sounds like fun, I'll be there tonight as long as it's not pouring. Hopefully we'll get the rain out of the way this morning/afternoon. |

Sounds like fun. I'm in, too, unless the rain is bad or I get some crazy last-minute work assignment. |

Cool, b.a.! We were afraid we had scared you off. :)
Everyone who has a digital (vintage is acceptable as well) camera should bring it tonight. Would be fun to see how everyone views the ride.
Dave, bring extra smokes, as there will be TWO downtowns involved! |

I will do. As long as it isn't pouring, I will be there with thoughts of coffee to warm these tired bones...

so, start at 8 then?
hope so, since i drove my car to work this morning. it would have been a miserable scooter ride to work this morning trying to avoid all those rain drops.
same goes for me: pouring=not there. drizzle=there.

We'll be passing back by the monument some time around 8 - probably a little before.
Starting time will still be in the vicinity of 7:00... |

No way, you guys were great! Sadly, I've just had a lot of other BS come up on Tuesday nights. I am, however, extremely averse to all inclement weather (probably due in part to the fact that, on at least one occasion in days of youth long past, I had to run a hurdle race when snow had actually accumulated on the mothergrabbing hurdles), so if I am feeling like a big chicken baby, even light rain might keep me away. |

I like that one. Clean, yet somehow vivid.
We'll be launching somewhere around 7 this evening, but if you miss us, hang out at or return to the monument by 8 -- we'll be passing back by there on our way to the Mpls route, and the St Paul route takes about an hour, so.. There you have it.
Tom, we don't have to wear druid outfits or anything, do we? |

just the sacrifice of a goat or small child would suffice. |
