So sorry to hear about your unintended meeting with Mr. Pavement - very glad you're not more seriously injured.

Heal fast!

Thank God for the full face helmet, I know I bonked twice and I'm pretty sure the second time would have face planted me into the curb.

Scooter folk, please accept this as a reminder to

WEAR

YOUR

HELMET.

I saw the marks on SJ's helmet chin/faceshield this evening - would NOT have been a good sitchiation w.o that full-face lid. Seriously... not good.

Anyway, the scoot's now back at Scooterville. Hope yer back on the road soon SJ.

Damage looks fairly cosmetic. New fender, cowl & legshield trim. She'll be good as new in a couple shakes.

Thank you so very very much for picking up the scooter at Jeff's place. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. I've been pretty overwhelmed at people's offers and generosity....

Good to know about the bike too - when I got up the guy whose house I wiped out in front of had already pulled it up on his curb - so I didn't really see that much of it.

Thanks again for everything.

Stacie

SJ,

Sorry to hear about your spill. Glad to hear your helmet protected your noggin. Hope you and your scooter are up and running soon.

I'm a pink scooter owner myself (p200) but thankfully in my crash I took out my girlfriends ET4 and not my superfly hot pink baby!!

Speedy recovery to you!!

Sprocket's story really made me cringe as I make my living with my hands. So, I wear armored gloves more than any other protective gear. Hand injuries give me the creeps (plus they can put you out of work).

Likewise, I once saw the aftermath of a MC accident where the ankle bones were ground off, along with some toes. That got my attention so, no flip-flops, ever. Boots.

Some people may not know about the jackets and pants made out of VENTILATED MESH with armor in the right spots. They are actually less hot on a brutal day than sitting in a t-shirt in the sun. Cheap too. If it's comfortable you will wear it, if it isn't, ya don't.

In the Speed movies you see those MC racers go down at 100+mph wearing good gear and quite frequently emerge without a scratch. Makes ya think.

No problem, happy to help...

...'cept I do have to admit that, after loading the scoot into the Mighty Dodge, the first sight of a pink scooter in the back of the truck made me wish I had a pair of dark sunglasses to wear on the trip over to Scooterville.

*Not that there's anything wrong with a guy owning a pink scooter.

I was pretty lucky that I didn't scrape and bruise my hands more. Although I couldn't say that I make my living with my hands - my productivity at work would most definitely have suffered if my injuries would have been more extensive.

Honestly, even though my knee is swollen and loopy - it's my arm and elbow that hurt the most. Apparently your elbows aren't supposed to look like hamburger. :)

Bullshit. He's a chronic masturbator trying to protect his lotion-softened hands.

Hey, depending on how he uses that chronic condition, he may be telling the truth!

Yay! Joe made a lewd comment on my topic -

Arm Hamburger Eye Candy.... mmmmm

The worst of the hand/wrist damage - mostly a bruised thumb...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v458/Sundaisies/handrash.jpg

and the knee - which looks peculiar because it's a sel portrait, c'est la vie.
