You better trade in your Stella and get an electric scooter if you want me to take you seriously.

Now why would I want to do that? I mean, have you take me seriously.

For the record, that quote is not attributable to me. Maybe to some other nutcase, but I am a peacenik pacifist type, for the most part... unless someone decided to swerve into my space on the street... then things get a little dicey and I start muttering "Hulk mad. Hulk smash!" to myself. So excusing Pol Pot of genocide runs counter to my beliefs.

Oh, and by the way, I'm more red than green, and I do believe my more veteran scooter-owning critics doth protest a wee bit too much, since emissions laws have been in effect in this country since way back to 1973, when I was a whole four years old and my idea of a scooter was very, very green, in that it was foot powered. Why are y'all holding onto those old beasts? Let's get them to the scrap yard and have them recycled into swingsets. You bring you scoots and I'll bring mine.

(Holy halitosis, Batman. I don't even know what this argument is about, anyway. All I did was offer a little jetting advice and we end up in eco-friendly land. C'est le guerre. I'm done. Been fun. Where are the door prizes for playing on this game show?)

"Lying by the side of a volcano, with no legs"

That is SO great I had to say it again. Thanks Nate! I'm also glad someone else sees the hypocrisy behind all the self righteous "yowling".

What fun would it be if your done Moses? Come on don't give up the battle. The world needs you. It's your job to make it a better place. You might really like the electric scooter. Have you tried it?

We are not mean. SKullman - you just don't know how to have fun.

P.S. Egan you had better not say "We are Devo".

Now I'm curious, does anybody have the comparison between emissions outputs on an old smelly two-stroke and a modern day SUV?

I couldn't find anything in my half-baked attempt through google.

Yo Lisas only half baked,DUDE.

Shane most the goofballs have known each other for sometime or at least like to prod, goat, and egg on the smack talking. I know that Derrick would pick up any greenie broken down by the side of the road. Moses would most likely pick up some rightie tightie Tonka-ite in like wise situation.
These boards are a way to fart around and waste itme and orignize rides etc. (weathers been sucking that up though). Now as for me I know these jokers would go zooming by giving ME the finger, or not notice me at all.

Love, Egan

Of course I would! I need to keep my Good Buddy Citizen badge, after all.

Spread the love, Egan. La la la... kum-bay-yah... ya ya ya... kum-bay-yah-oh-hey-'dere... rainy enough for ya?

I don't know myself BUT I do know two strokes are very bad for there size. There is a short period of time when the intake and exhaust are open at the same time. This allows some of the new charge (gas) to pass right out the exhaust pipe. Man, that should make Moses feel like shit! Very bad indeed.

Sure the new "Ditech" sp? injected two strokes are better because they inject the gas charge after the exhaust port closes. BUT, you are still burning lubication oil.

Either way, Moses needs to sell all his stuff and live like a caveman. Wait, I bet they even polluted. Shit! Maybe there is just one solution. Hmmm.

SUVs are cleaner than two-strokes, even a catted Stella, but are not as clean as passenger cars. However, they sure chew through a tank of gas pretty quickly.

How's that for my "totally unhelpful" prize? Anyone got stats, charts and figures? We should have a seminar! Whooo! We can get all geeky on numbers and wear badges saying "Hello. My name is..."

Too much damage to our world... must cut back... *sniff* Crap! I just annihilated a thousand microbes in the air! Woe, agony, and despair on me.

*snork* Crap!

So anyway.....

I'm sure it would be hard to find facts on emmissions and how to rate them between cars and scoots. But I would bet straight out of the tailpipe a 2 stroke is going to be worse, you have unspent gas and oil coming out of it, but suv's take way more natural resources to build and maintain as well as the worse milage. In the long run a scoot is probably better but if you worry about it go electric or 4 stroke.

what where we talking about again??

I love that phrase "half-baked". Thanks Lisa.

Really I do!

It was used in my favorite movie. The Graduate.

When his parents ask him about his just announced marriage - Ben (a different one Egan!) calmly says about his bride to be - "she doesn't know yet" His father with a puzzled look on his face says - " This sounds kind of half baked, Ben" Ben responds with - "Oh, it's baked alright. It's totally baked"

I didn't remember that line -- it's been a while.

I figure there must be stats someplace on emissions, just based on having been taken out of the U.S. market based on the emissions problems. Or do I not have my facts right there?

I am not going to give up my smell old scooters though, even though I am pretty green (in both senses described on this post).

The lawnmower I could maybe part with. I just don't want to get one with all those irritating safety mechanisms. That is a completely different discussion though...

Oh man. Even the Min Maxers don't like us loud and/or stinky polluters!

"It is important to note that the focus of Minn-Max is obviously on maxiscooters. For many of us the choice of riding a maxiscooter was made at least in part because of the quietness of maxiscooters and the relatively low levels of noxious exhaust they put out. With that in mind, we do request that loud vehicles and those with 2-stroke engines ride in the rear of our formations. This greatly reduces the noise and smoke for the others on the ride. Also, we reserve the right to prohibit extremely loud or polluting vehicles from our rides."

Maybe we should put maxi-scoots at the rear of the pack for SD6. Todd and Thomas can ride escort with their extremely loud and smokey, but extremely sweet lammies.
