No more mention of stella in the "scooters" section of Genuine's site:

www.genuinescooters.com

That means Stellas just became more exclusive! Take that!

got this for a quick inquiry email:

Stella production is suspended. We donít expect her to be back.

Most dealers are sold out of Stellas, but we have plenty of OEM and aftermarket parts and accessories for years to come.

In the mean time, if you find a Stella available at a dealer, I would grab itÖ or I would like to encourage you to take a look at our Buddy 125 scooter or any of our other models. They offer comparable performance to the Stella, but due to their modern engine designs, they are more fuel efficient and lower maintenance.

I hope this is helpful information!

The end of a LONG line reaching back to 1946!

I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

How does striking for higher wages help when the factory closes and there's no work?

Weren't the workers going unpaid before they went on strike? I don't recall the details, but I seem to recall that they were getting the raw end of the deal, even by Indian standards. Who's in the know on this? Enlighten us, please.

Oh, and 2SB mentioned that LML's castings were being negotiated for purchase by a UK firm. I wonder what became of that?

...and...

Bajaj's four-stroke engine -- anything on that? Will current Legend/Chetak owners be able to count on future parts?

Wow, too many changes. These must be those accursed "interesting times."
