I already called dibs on Michelle's couch. I promise not to try to sneak the pink Stella keys out of her purse. <fingers crossed>

Do we have a decision yet on Canal Park vs. Motel 6? We should probably make reservations today or tomorrow. I don't really care which - as long as I'm splitting the cost - so let's make a decision. |

Canal Park. But it looks like most of the hotels down there are booked. Downtown would be my second choice, but I'm not going to cancel if we go to the Home Of The Knife Fights. I think availability might be a major factor here. |

I don't really want to stay in Superior. But I'll go with the group if that's what people want.
Best Western downtown is $100/night for a room with two doubles. That's $50/person/night if people share. If people don't want to stay at Motel 6, let's stay there.

Edit: but in looking at the pictures it doesn't look particularly better than the Motel 6... |

I agree with Tom, I would rather stay on the Duluth side. I'm still for the motel 6. Having the breakfast spot next door and the gas station that is open 24 hrs. for those late night snacks. I don't mind riding the 3mi to canal park or taking a taxi and this way we all would get our own rooms ( I like having my own room )but we probably should get something figured out. What do you think? majority rules? my vote is for the motel 6. |

Ok, screw it, I say Motel 6 in the sticks.
It's $60 vs $90 (and that was with AAA) a night. ece's right about the convenience, also. And as Michelle pointed out, if we want to drink in excess we should just get a suitcase of cheap beer and hotel it.
In 24 hours or so I'm going to reserve a room for myself, unless someone tells me to pull the trigger earlier. |

Okay, is it a plan? I'm reserving a room right now. |

Ok, I did the Motel 6.
And it was still $60 for me, but that's because it's just me. Double is $65. I'm guessing that's not EACH. :) |

Okay, so I know that now we've settled on Motel 6, you're all thinking "wow, it's so cheap I don't need to share a room". But I'm getting some pressure here to keep costs as low as possible for this endeavor ("Well, you're paying for it out of your savings account, right?" -- "What, you spent all your money on scooter work?" -- Well you better make it cheap"). Does anybody want to share? I made a reservation for two people, so I'm all set on that. If not, I can just call them back and change it, but let's just say I'm motivated to keep it cheap. |
