Date: Saturday the 23rd
Location: meet at Bruegger's Bagels (4953 Penn Ave S. in
Minneapolis) on the Northeast corner of 50th and Penn. Please arrive with a full tank of gas! Also, don't fill your belly on bagels since you'll want to save room for some of the best cheeseburgers in the Twin Cities.
Time: we will leave at 11:00 a.m.
Destination: Lions Tap in Eden Prairie. We will scoot there via some great backroads. Travel time will be about an hour and change. http://lionstap.com/
Return trip can be as a group (I may run back to Minneapolis via a partial route around Lake Minnetonka, or we can always go back the way we came) or everyone is free to leave on their own.
On the way to Lions Tap we'll be scooting down some great roads. However, the route I've laid out does feature some hills (and lotsa curves!!!) so anyone riding a 50cc may have trouble keeping up. We will be running speeds anywhere from 30-50 mph. Many of the roads are posted 40.
Questions? Email me at
I hope to see some of you on Saturday!

Hey kids,
My wife had to work this morning, and she's rushing home ASAP - assuming all goes well, I'm leaving my house at 10:30, but I have to stop and get gas, and it can be a long way from the Lake Street bridge to 50th & Penn. Give me ten or fifteen minutes just in case. |

I had a great time, even with the high speed blow out and near high side experience.... There really isn't anything that will wake you up in the morning like a 45 degree fishtail @ 50 mph...

Ya I was lucky and keeped up upright. I was fish tailing really really bad. I counter steered and rode it out and let the bike slow on it's own... I don't know the name of the road, but it was after cheese burgers and beers.

Yeah, it was the added weight from the cheeseburgers and beers he'd just had. My bike performed a little better on the way out than on the way back... |

Yeah "good thing". Maybe more little bottles of Jack? Were the beers that small too?

We are tenatively looking to do this again on October 8th. Same route with a possible addition post-lunch. The fall colors should be close to peaking by then.
