Dear Scooter boys and girls:
Before I put it on Craigslist, I thought I'd offer this scooter to the in-crowd first.
My '85 PX150E Elestart is for sale- a nice, clean, roadworthy ride. Don't recall at the moment the exact milage- somewhere in the 4000's.
This scooter has spent most of its past years in storage at my folks' farm. Time to give it a more deserving home.
Convenient, instant, electric start. New piston, carburetor/ fuel system just cleaned. I've been personally maintaining this scooter for reliability. Bright red fenders, new seat. New battery. Ride it to work or Madison. Perfectly smooth and fast enough (well, you be the judge). Clean title and current MC registration. Ride with the big dogs.
All in all, this scooter is a nice balance between modern convenience and having the prestige of a Real Vespa.
Email to come see it here in Longfellow, S. Mpls, or NE Mpls.
Tomorrow I'll post on Craigslist with pics.
$2000.
Regards,
Will |

Questions:
Is the 4,000 miles after the new piston, or is it the lifetime total miles inculding the old piston(s) ?
Also, if the answer is the lifetime total, what caused the need for a new piston?
Finally, are you the original owner and if not, do you know how many previous owners the bike has had?
Thanks. |

1. 100 or less milage on new piston
2. During storage, condensation caused some rust inside the cylinder wall- result: some scoring/premature wear/noise when running. Fix: bore to next oversize to create nice new wall.
3. 1 prevoius owner. They put the milage on it.
4. If you're interested, make an appt. to give it a ride.
Regards,
Will |

Thanks. It was nicer before it tipped over in the parking lot at work last Monday night. The asphalt was still hot enough at 9:00 that the thing sank in and tipped over off of the farging center stand.
Unhappy Spike. |

Yeeeeouch, a Beemer that sweet should never kiss the pavement.
Hot weather sucks - my damn-near-mint CBX did the same thing. Thank goodness for case guards. |
