Is your auto lube working correctly? It was my first thought when you said that your plug was black. But Derrick is right, if you checked your plug after you siezed it wouldn't be a good indication of what was really happening in your cylinder at full throttle.
Is the timing stock? If so you might retard it a few degrees. I would guess you would want no more than 19 degrees BTDC. I am running my 225 Lamby at 16 degrees BTDC. Very conservative but I don't want to seize. Anything to minimize piston heat.
Also, you should be running premium gas to minimize pre-detonation.

Supposedly the DR kit is fine at stock timing. Right now I think that poor tuning is my biggest problem, but timing is second on the list. Once I get the parts togther I might want a consult on that Derrick.
I run 93 octane ethanol free gas whenever possible.
