Luce just opened up a restaurant at Selby and Lex. That's like, actually on the Saint Paul side of the world, for the rest of the world that isn't familiar with geography over on the mystery side of 280. (hint: It doesn't drop off into space, as previously thought.)

No real reason to post this here other than "I'm kind of excited by it".

St. Paul goes smarmy. I think they are a little late on the gentrification bandwagon though.

If good pizza = gentrification, then bring it on.

I want to be stereotyped.
I want to be classified.

And yes, I'm living in a house just like mom and dad.

I will have you know it's my only goal,
to have my house inside the centerfold,
I can see it now a two page spread,
In BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS.

No better punk song about gentrification than SNFUs better homes and gardens.

Chris

Since they have four locations, does this mean that they're an evil souless corporate chain? Or do they have to have five locations?

They have to start ACTING like an evil soulless corporate chain first. They'd have to stop paying their employees better than most restaurants, have a uniform policy, and ban tattoos and piercings.

You can have a chain without being evil, it's pretty easy.

You know I was just yankin' yer chain right? I like luce. But where were they for me in 1998 through 2002 when I lived in that neighborhood, huh? I was stuck eating horrible pizza from that shop on snelling and selby and drowning my sorrows at Chang O'haras's. It's all changed so much, so much, so much...

More news as we get it.

Dude, quit trying to cover up that you are just the unofficially sanctioned boutique arm of JoAnn Fabrics. You are the Chipotle of the DIY crowd.

OK, so I can't count. But five is a chain, even if they allow tattoos and piercings. Maybe not evil and souless if they offer good pay. Capitalists in disguise.

Anybody read "Return of the Yuppie." in December's Details magazine?
