I think the shifter is the red shaft/handle mounted on the right side of the frame just in front of the seat. I think it is connected to a rod that gos to a pivot assemble just right of where the selector box is/was. I bet it is a modified selector box that allows a direct connection to the selector rod.
It looks like the clutch is rod operated too.
No front suspension? That could get rough but I bet that this is slow so it might not matter.
I thought about making one of this with a modern engine. I was toying with 2 in front or 2 in the back (or one of each if I butchered a whole miniquad). I was thinking more for snow than for increased road grip like with the MP3. Then I thought the two in front with the difficult single wheel traction problems that the honorable Mr. Charpentier elluded to would be a problem. Then with 2 in the rear the ability to lean with fully inflated road tires seems to go away. The thought exercise really made me appreciate the MP3 AND the Honda Gyro's leaning capabilities. are trikes really all that fun to drive?
