Amy and I toured the city on Saturday begging for stuff. Robot Love was the only place that gave a resounding "yes" but the following were interested and will likely say yes when we get to the right people:
Tatters
Ax-Man
Andy's Garage
I don't recall who thought Amy and I would be able to be more successful at this than a bunch of guys scooting around and soliciting, but whoever you were you were wrong. Fortunately, there were plenty of establishments willing to sell us food and drink so that we could console ourselves.
We have not hit Northeast yet - maybe one night this week? Anybody with powers of persuasion greater than ours would be welcome to join us (Egan) or maybe connections in NE (Egan). |

He was anticipating the request based on your earlier conversation - thanks for warming him up.
Sure wish everybody else would have been as enthusiastic! |

Matt, I've already contacted sx appeal but haven't heard back. I've got ben sherman covered so can you remove that from the list? I'm in contact with someone there. We got a tentative yes, but i won't know to what extent until next month. I don't want to irritate anyone by having too many people contacting them. Thanks! |

You don't have to lean Egan, just walk in and smile and people will hand you all sorts of stuff! There's a guy named James at Longfellow that really likes you - I'm sure he'd be good for some goodies! |

I contacted Aerostich and hit them up- I think my general email was forwarded to the appropriate person, and he said he'd consider us. He was down for SD1, and it seems like he enjoyed himself. So there's that. |

Turns out that the appropriate person is the owner of Aerostich. He seems pretty accomodating. |

a couple of donation confirmations of raffle prizes from the super cool people at:
Andy's Garage said they'd donate gift certificates (don't have the specifics just yet)
Ax-Man Surplus Stores--$25 gift certificate

I talked to the folks at the Chatterbox last night (didn't have the flyer with me) they're interested and I need to stop back. I'll do it when I get back from vacation. |

hey-- "long time listener, first time caller. Love your show."
Matt just pointed out to me that one of our crafty planet instructors is also the marketing director at whole foods. D'oh!
I emailed her & here's what she says:
Quote: | Ah, heck – why not? I needed another event on my August schedule anyway!
I can probably provide food for the cookout and a gift card or gift basket -- your choice.
Let me know what you’d need. |
So-- who should I send her contact info to? lemme know. free lunch Saturday! does that give the long riders more incentive to come back to Scooterville for lunch?! |

That rocks hard! Are we going to have an included breakfast at Yarusso's too? Nothing brings out the folks like free food. |

What's the parking like there? Seem to remember it's a little sketchy, but I could be wrong. Still looking into a thursday night meet. If they have decent safe parking I would be interested.
