Hey everyone,
Well I some sad news. While I was on the way to TNR yesterday, I came to a stop at Hennepin and 25th for a red light. A young lady in my lane behind me didn't see both me and the red light. I came too on the ground a few minutes later. Apparently I was cut down at the legs, flipped back into the windshield and then punted about 10 to 12 feet out into the intersection.
I have no idea what my scoot looks like at this point. The ambulance came and got me and whisked me away before I was able to get a look around to see it's state. But given everything else that happened, I have to assume it's a write off.
Good news is, I don't have any type of brain injuries or spinal issues. Just some really messed up legs and a complete lack of scooter transportation.
Hopefully I'll be back out there with everyone in a few weeks (months)

Sorry to hear it. It sounds like you came out of it pretty well, considering. Don't worry about the scoot until you have yourself in order - focus on getting yourself well first. |

Sorry to hear about the accident, but it's good that there are no spinal or brain injuries. Hennepin Ave. seems to be worse this year than last. I live right at that intersection - and there have been more than once where I've turned around to see someone surprised that I'm in front of them. That's one of the reasons for the new bright pink jacket - visibility.
Get well soon.

Sorry to hear of your accident. My wife went through a lot recovering from her's last year - but she's back together and back on the scoot!
Get better, lot's of time for riding after you heal! |

Thanks everyone for all of the new words and comments. The insurance guy called me this morning and my scoot will be a complete write off. So it looks like I get to go shopping for a new ride. Oh I can leave the world of plastics now!
Oh, everyone should consider reviewing your scooter insurance. It seems that there is a lot that isn't covered under base insurance. I'm going to have to out of pocket a lot of my hospital stay and the ambulance ride.
So, does anyone have a next to new Stella that they would be interested in unloading to me in a month or so?!?!? :) A man can dream can't he?
Thanks again

I agree about the insurance thing - I ended up paying out of pocket for my Ambulance ride last year. My health insurance through work covered all the hospital bills - but the Ambulance ride was almost 700 out of pocket. |

Glad that it wasn't any worse, and hopefully things will only get better from here.
I hope you recover quickly.

So many bad drivers in the world and so little protection on a 2 wheeled vehicle. It's awesome that you are okay! Hope you have a speedy recovery and will be back on the roads soon. |

Oh yeah, the whole insurance thing can be a real good time. We ended up poorer by $3,000 with Bev's broken bokes and surgery and ambulance ride and scooter deductable and...... |
