I was seeing thick black oil on the muffler pipe just under the cylinder. Oil all over the bottom of the cylinder and oil on the gear box. Also, Oil on the Floor board near the cylinder and muffler connection. The bike started well, and idled pretty good. My top speed was about 45 mph on a 150cc engine. I know I wont go much more than 50 or 50+ but a honda elite 80 was keeping up with me. Besides the base gasket that I am in the process of replacing (when it arrives) anything else I should check out that would cause oil to leak like this on a two stroke 150 vespa?
I doubt a bad base gasket is causing exhaust to leak out. I would bet its the connection between the cylinder exhaust stub and the exhaust down pipe. That connection is very poor on most repro exhausts. I use permatex high temp copper silicone on that joint. Both pieces MUST be clean before applying the silicone.
Since when is Arizona foreign? He said the guys did all the work on the rear head gasket. Now his tranny fluid is leaking on the johnson rod converter. Help a guy out and don't hat the pllayer hat the game.

But we're talking about the forward head gasket now, and there's not supposed to be a forward head gasket. Unless this is one of the Bajaj models that came with the VW engine, but I don't have much experience with those.
