Ok, I took care of the oil leak I had and the bike runs great, but why does the vespa 150 3 port engine only go about 45 mph? Does 45 mph seem slow, shouldn't I be able to go about 50+ mph?

Sell that stinking vintage piece and get something that you will like - like a Silverwing. It will do 50+ mph even if you weigh 300 lbs.

yes, I am using a GPS to check the speed. No reed. The exhaust was a fabricated item put together by the guy in Arizona, he stamped his web site into the side of the muffler. I only weigh 155 so, its not my weight dogging it down.

please tell me the website for the exhaust. I'm looking for a new one and a hand fabricated one from AZ would be better than the one I've got from VN. You did say AZ and not VN right?

By the way I think Derrick just wants to buy your bike so tell him to suck off.

Chris

here is the web address for the guy in AZ that supposedly refinished the bike http://www.zsimports.com/

I am going to put my bike back on craigs list soon.

For the last time THAT BIKE IS FROM SOMEWHERE IN ASIA that exhaust is an ASIAN COPY. Do you know how long it takes to make an exhaust by hand? and every bike he had has one. Obviously you don't want to believe it but trust us it's true, he did not restore that bike or any that he sells.

Also no reed = not a Stella motor, he lied. And I bet anything it's not jetted for the pipe.

Sorry no more help until you admit it's an imported restro. But hey what do we know, we're just a bunch of elitest snobs.

Heh now that would be awesome!

But sersiously get it sorted before you sell it. Yours looks solid but you never know and the next owner might not be so willing into trying to figure out what is wrong. Get a stock exhaust and get the jetting right.

Good tech tips here

Hopefully you're honest with who ever buy it. But looking at the ad probably not....

I'll probably end up getting a new muffler. I have already been pricing it out, probably from scooterworks. The bike starts, idles well, drives, and stops well. You cant miss that it only goes 45 mph for a 150 scooter so I will need to cover that with the person. I am also going to put on a new spark plug cap and wire soon because the cap is pretty loose on the wire and won't tighten up.

pulled the craigs list ad and ordered the muffler and wire supplies. I couldn't sell the bike with a bad wire and cap...you would think the guy from AZ would have told the people overseas to put on a good wire set.
