Two questions for the group.....

How many miles have you put on this season?

How far did you ride today?

Bonus question....

Did you scoot to work?

How many vintage scooters have/do you own>>>>>>>?

What years are your scooters>>>>>>>>>>?

Do you maintain them yourself, what was a recent repair/upgrade that you accomplished>>>>>>>>>?

Seems a little more interesting then going to the store on a zuma for a gallon of milk. But thats just me.

1. 3, I think

2. 63, 63, 63, I think

3. Self Serviced! Malossi variator on my kymco people 50. I get to the store for a gallon of milk so much quicker now. Before it took me almost as long as on a p200.

ok, that's done. But I don't think that was much more fun. did I miss something? Am I supposed to be doing something while typing this? Where do I put my feet?

I only think 1 speedo works on mine; I just fixed it and it's in kilometers so I really have no clue. My ass and my stable tell me it's been a good summer.

Miles this season = 1600 and counting
Miles today = 22 (but I still have to scoot home)
Did I scoot to work = Of course, a wickedly delightful day to ride

Peter I can't believe you sold the Rally and bought the Vento with Turbocam, the G-Ladder supercharged version is so much better.

I wanted something a little more agile than the CFMoto Fashion CF250T(E); but not quite as powerful as the G-ladder supercharged. I considered the Phantera, and the American Lifan LF-50QT-2A, but I was really excited about the value of the Vento Zip r3i Turbocam. Anyway; the Vento Zip r3i Turbocam will always trump your G-ladder Supercharged in the twisties.

yes, yes and yes. It's been The Year of Living Scooterishly. Domestic riding, splitting lanes ("Getoverit, Dude-In-The-SUV"!) ------I'd go insane if I couldn't buzz ahead of all the backed up traffic in town!!!!!---- and literally hundreds of "near misses" from clueless mofos puttering along chatting on their cell phones or sprawling all over my lanes. Talk about DEFENSIVE driving, it's all that now....that's all there is, and, if you're ridin' YOU KNOW.

Rode all my work shit today, rode to the pre-nup rally and rode for fun. Brooke came and fixed scootie stuff today and Ginger rode his Buddy. Woo Hoo!

Thanks,
Mojo Willy

Crap. Didn't check the mileage at the start of this year, but I picked up my P200 ONE YEAR ago today, and last week it rolled over 5000 miles since purchase. I commute on it daily, 13 miles each way.

1,000 miles
650 on the Lambretta
350 on the Stella

Although I'll put on another 100 on the Stella riding to the rally today. Also, I was out of the country for the first half of the summer.

Yes, I ride to work and everywhere else. I don't own a car right now.

Last repair -- Voltage regulator on the lambretta. The week before that gear oil changes on both bikes. Yes, I did it myself -- nobody else in Eau Claire repairs old scooters (or Stellas).

It's either broke or I fixed it. Arrrrrr!!!

See ya later,
Tom

I overlooked Egan's questions that were a part of this thread.

How many vintage scooters have/do you own>>>>>>>? None (Vintage scooters are sort of like classic cars and old wooden boats to me ~ beautiful to look at, fascinating, etc... But, I am about the least handy guy there is and have the impression that they would require more maintenance that I know I cannot do.)

What years are your scooters>>>>>>>>>>? 2004, 2004, 2004, and 2003

Do you maintain them yourself, what was a recent repair/upgrade that you accomplished>>>>>>>>>? See answer above ~ if I maintained, repaired or upgraded them myself, they wouldn't be running. That's what places like Scooterville are for ~ helping guys like me.

Seems a little more interesting then going to the store on a zuma for a gallon of milk. But thats just me. >>>> I have a Zuma too ~ going to college tomorrow with my son to run around campus.

One question, when driving an ancient Vespar how does one determine miles driven? I mean, I occasionally get this whipping and wavering needle going by on a gauge-like device between the handlebars, but most of the time not even that.

Milage estimate = lots, but not enough.

Where = all on "sneaky" routes around the edges of where the vast hoards of SUV daisy chains migrate. One good loop around Minnetonka and a good loop to White Bear Lake, Stillwater, Hudson. Going north or south gets more dangerous.

Fixer-Upper = I'm filthy rich and have my own Italian "Jacquemo-of-all-trades" who does things for me.

Best new Scoot hang-out= CAFE BRASA (formerly Betty's' Bikes and Buns) where we get good local food done right and doesn't cost an arm and leg. Actually everything Betty's had and much more.

Slummin' = We've already infiltrated the Hardley crowd at Whiskey Jct and park the mopeds beside them so's they can HARDY-HAR-HAR if they want. It's a blast. This will be an important hangout once SV moves!

Thanks for asking,
Mojo Willy
