Of course, it may also be the ONLY Ape chase scene ever. But I doubt it. If you haven't yet seen "ONG BAK" in the theaters, try to get out and see it. The high-speed (it is all relative) Ape (or 'tuk tuk') chase scene is hilariously cool and the climax of it nearly choked me with laughter. This Thai fighting movie is wicked awesome, if you like that sort of thing -- no special effects (well, barely), no sneaky camera tricks, no nets, just lots and lots of stunning jaw-dropping kung fu / thai boxing action. whew!

The game "Stuntman" for the PS2 is basically a glorified racing game- you race through gates before time runs out, sideswipe marked objects, and basically just follow a big obstacle course. After you finish the course, it shows a movie trailer, interspersed with some of the action scenes from your previous run.

One of the movies features a few segments with Tuk Tuks, running up on roofs, jumping off a dock into a boat, dodging rocket launchers, etc. It's hilarious, and I always enjoyed playing those levels. I figured they got the idea for it from some movie (all of the genres are spoofs) but didn't know it was actually an established tradition.

And I always thought Planet of the Apes had the best ape chase. Mostly I just can't stand not having my name in all the index boxes.;)

ok, just in case you didn't click right over to the website, check out these pictures of the Great Ape Chase (that's "ah-pay" for you noobs out there, not a monkey. although monkeys are cool, too, and seeing a high-speed monkey chase would be sweet). right. anyway, check 'em out:

I've been thinking... the only thing better than a high-speed monkey chase would be a high-speed monkey chase where the monkeys exploded upon the slightest impact, after rolling down cliffs and after being hit by stray gunfire.

I'd pay billions of bananas to see that.

Crap, I'm burned out from work... can ya tell?

Octopussy has the only other tuk tuk chase scene I know of. Both Bajaj's, I think.
