Not to be a joykill or anything but you all know we are having a big rally here in two weeks and REALLY need help with it? Would be cool if you could divert some of this energy to the rally.

Sorry Matt - I don't want to divert energy from the rally.

I'm out of town basically for the next three weeks, and have had a tough schedule this summer - I'm basically missing everything (Tuesdays/Sundays/Maxi's/Regulars). Just trying to hook up with one big ride for the year.

We can plan after the rally. In my mind this is a low-key, support yourself sort of group ride/campout/casino run. If you blow up, carry a cell - lock your scooter to a tree and ask your spouse/significant other nicely to come and get you sort of ride.

I'll be out of town for the Du as well. Besides, I don't much care for city scooter conventions. Had enough of those in California.

Okay, so I posted in the events forum that we're meeting after this coming Tuesday Night Ride at Betty's Bikes and Buns to figure out and actually plan a Duluth Run. Right now it's almost definitely looking like either Aug 27-28 or Sept 10-11. Who's in?

Most importantly though, to the best of my knowledge Josh is the only one of us who's actually *done* a Duluth Run. Josh, are you available on Tuesday after the rally? With any luck the hangover will be fading...

The thing to do is to choose the weekend, book the campsite, and find a local watering hole for the drinking and staying dry if it rains.

Driving your scooters to Duluth shouldn't be a big deal unless the weather is really bad. Last summer Jeremy and myself drove our bikes all the way down to Kansasvile, WI for a scooter rally that turned into an aging bikers' rally.

I'm in and will be at the Tuesday night ride and to Betty's afterward.

When I was in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago I drove parts of 35 (it runs on the Wisconsin side to Superior). It looked like it would be a nice scooter ride, if motor homes can lumber along at 50 mph, we should be able to also. It's a pretty route, farmland then small towns and bars every 5-10 miles.

Maybe for a route?
Highway 96 to Stillwater
95 North, past Marine on St. Croix
Cross to Wisconsin at Oseola
North on 35 to Superior

It's 105 miles from Taylors Falls to Superior, maybe 150 or 160 miles the whole trip one way?

See you Tuesday night at Bettys after the ride.

Okay, so I think we have me, fnirt, dmarquis, brad, michelle, and erik (sorry, don't know your username) on board. We've all got to pressure michelle to make sure she goes. Anybody else planning to go?

We leave from the Como Pavilion at 9:00 on Sept. 10.

Adam from the Maxis is riding on his Bajaj also, so that's 7 so far. Nice sized group!

Matt plus some of the other regulars might do the leg with us to Osceola, to see Wheels and Wings. I invited the maxi's to do the same.

Who else is up for Duluth? If you're going you should probably reserve a room. $54 a night at the Motel 6 if you register online.

I've been tweeking the Bajaj - should have new tires on it by the time for the run. This is going to be fun!

Oh yeah, do we have a list of probable Duluth stopping points? At some point I need to officially map out the route and stopping points. What I've heard so far:

Wheels and Wings on the way up
Canal Park
Aerostich
Skyline drive
Fitgers

Ece that's me(erik)!!. This should be a fun time, especially 7 scoots so far heading to Duluth! and maybe the addition of some more on the way to Osceola. Let's just hope the weather keeps up the way it has been . I am curious about another Duluth run meeting before we go?

Well, I'm not much for meetings myself, but I suggest that *if* such a thing is wanted by others, it should be after next week's TNR.

This coming Tuesday is the first day of school for the kids, but I could see having a meeting at Betty's at 8ish after the Tuesday night ride to go over any last minute details.

It might not be a bad idea, this way we would be able to make sure everyone has what they need. It may turn out to be a longer ride than we think? or not? better safe than sorry the way I see it.
