Hope I'm not doing it alone tonight! It's a beautiful day (or at least it was when I came in to my basement office at 9:00 this morning...)

What is top speed for the TNR?

I don't think I can make it tonight, but I should be able to make my first next week. That should almost guarantee crappy weather.

Top speed? Depends on who's leading. When I lead it's usually a nice pokey pace. Why, even a Vino could probably do it. (I'm tempted to take the Vino one week just for fun) I'm guessing 35 would be the top speed, but if we had someone to keep in mind we could keep it to 30. Which is probably the speed limit, anyway.

i believe that i hit AT LEAST 45 on the downhill twisties after 11th ave. on the river road (not that anyone besides nate's dumb-ass was still with me)... me and egan ripped around lake harriet pretty quick once (his lead). Like robert said, it depends who's leading !!! but don't worry, it's always the same route and people always wait up for the pack!! hope to see you next week. and all of you!!!!!!!!!!

p.s.-keep in mind that i crash my scooter once and awhile...must be kinda slow in other respects...

Thanks for my first lead, all. I think it made for a relaxing, fun ride - we had maybe six people who'd never been on the TNR, and for the first time ever, my Stella was the only one and I was outnumbered by the Vespa P200e cohort of two. Everybody else was twisting and going.

Kevin K and I went ahead and finished the ride back to the bandshell after Betty's - it was a dark ride! I crossed 2,000 miles on my Stella and put 49 miles on it tonight.

Oh, and unless Josh is leading, it's always under 35 mph...

A great night. We had a pair of ET4's and a Gran Turismo join us along with a pair of exotic 50's. One of the ET's had a different head and exhaust and was the best sounding 4 stroke scoot I've heard yet.

Another '81 P200 showed up--with only 1200 miles on it! Owned by original owner and still sporting the key chain from Egeberg's Vespa on Franklin.

We met up with some other scooterists at Bettys, and I took a spin on a '80's Honda Express that was for sale there. Not exactly quick, but fun nonetheless.

I'm hoping the weather is just as nice next week. The only reason I was concerned about the top speed was that I'm not done running in yet, so I don't want to be too tempted to open it up too soon. I might be ready to let 'er fly by next week though. Worst case scenario is just being part of the ride, not a bad option.

I was the guy with the dreadlocks on the orange and black 50cc TGB.

That ride made me get off my ass and change my variator rollers today. I had no acceleration and a weird powerband that basically made it really fast between 25-30mph. It was fun chasing though, ,I was able to keep up with the pace, now I should be able to keep pace better next time.

I had fun though, look forward to doing it again sometime. I don't know that many people to ride with, I usually tool around the lakes on the way home from work.

Well, a bunch of us who are doing the Duluth Run should be there tonight since we're meeting at Betty's afterwards. I suspect that tonight's ride will be more like last week's ride - from the bandshell to Betty's, and then it will be dark. But that's probably a good autumnal route since it'll be dark at 7:00 in just a couple weeks.

Let's try to actually roll at 7:00. That means you, Dave!
