Can anyone sleep tonight? I don't know if I can.

Need to pack. Feel like I'm in line for a rollercoaster. Hoping we make it. Wondering if I should pack long underwear for the 90 degree weather. Etc, blah ad nauseum.

Or for the knife-fighting championships in the parking lot...

And yeah, I won't be able to sleep either. I'm mostly packed so I have no good excuse. Since I have loads of storage space, I'm bringing along:

Lots of spark plugs
A Stella repair manual
A slightly extended tool kit: metric socket set, screwdrivers, pliers, and a wrench
A pile of bandages and some gauze just in case

As well as my clothes, some water, and so forth. Oh, and I called the AMA to confirm my membership in their Motow program. So I'm ready - heck, I think I'm ready for a road trip to New Orleans...

I'm at over 2000 miles and haven't changed my sparkplug once. She drives wonderfully.

i met up with the duluth/osceola contingent this morning for 'special' eggs, coffee, and huge @ss muffins!

they looked a little haggard, some from admitted lack of sleep, and i do distinctly recall hearing "i got my drink on last night" or something to that effect. this was amongst talk of old english 1800 and whether the 'un-official' scooterist beer was pbr or grain belt.

in preparation for the hotel parking lot, 433 asked if anyone brought a blade. upon hearing this, fnirt deftly reached in his pocket and produced one. :) but wait, 433 isn't going to duluth! well, i don't know what he needed the blade for then.

the group was excited as they headed off, shortly after 9:00am. (yeah, they actually departed around 9:15! not too bad for scooterists!) a couple bajaj, a vespa et and i do believe the rest were stella's. a nice group of scooters & scooterists. as they pulled away from the como pavilion parking lot my heart skipped a little in regret.

have a safe trip, guys!!!

I think it was 2 Bajaj, 2 ETs, and 8 Stellas.

Michelle: I swung by the hardware store on Lexington and Larpenteur to get some plastic tubing to replace my 3-month-old quick-fix for the rattling glovebox problem. THAT'S what I needed the blade for!

word came in around 8:30 that the group rolled into duluth around 6:30pm. no incidents were reported, and they had just ordered dinner at grandma's.

debauchery was tentatively scheduled for later...
