OSP -- Outlaw Scooter Posse
Good name. The 4 of us in the Evil Scooterist Club tip our collective hats.

This run Sat eve will be a night time parkway ride. Is there a destination afterwards where one might tip back a cold one? Possiby Mayslack's in NE or the Uptown Bar in uptown? Britts downtown or or maybe Wiskey Junction or Triple Rock on the West Bank? Etc, etc, etc.

I'll never understand people who don't try to fix their faults, but instead revel in them. It's the true mark of maturity, isn't it?

Interesting.
Jeremy, for someone who dyes his hair blue, you are awfully judgemental. Don't be a scooternazi. I feel sorry for you if you don't have more important things to worry about in your life. Get over it.

Gee whiz, I'm really sorry that I don't have more important things to worry about than the safely of myself and my friends when riding my scooter.

Pre-judging (also known as "prejudice", TomR) is what people normally fight against. There's nothing wrong with judging based on fact. Like the fact that you're a shitty rider, a rules-lawyer, and someone who has to resort to veiled threats (remember the mace, Tom?) to get his way. Why would you want to have to do that to be able to ride with people?

But then again, you just violated Godwin's Law, so the conversation is over and you lose.

Good christ, you guys. Couple of things to get straight:

Hitler = Nazi = Germany = BMW

Mussolini = Fascist = Italy = Vespa

I don't know if the Italians had a catchy name for their party, but this isn't a BMW club.

Zumaboy, sorry about corrupting your post with this tangential discussion. I see you did the smart thing and started another post.

Shitty rider? I really prefer evil scooterist. Jeremy, this is what you called me last June and I got a kick out of it. Even made up a shirt with that emblasoned on it. It made me think of Ronald Reagon and his speech in the early 80's where he branded the Soviet Union as the "Evil Empire". Kind of makes one proud. Of course I am flattering myself and you when thinking that scootering is important on the world stage, but I am proud of evil scooterist. It has a nice ring to it.
In Reagons speech he also described an Axis of Evil. It was the Soviet Union, Lybia, and either Iran or No Korea. I am not sure on the third country. The Axis of Evil. It was a great speech. Throughout history, axis seem to generally appear in 3's. The Axis Powers of WWII were Germany, Italy, and Japan. Maybe the Evil Scooterists Club can join up with some other groups, even non scooter related, to form an axis. A car club, computer hackers group, up skirters, a Risk playing group, etc, to form an axis. The right axis could rule! Just think of the possibilities for outstanding tee shirts alone, not to mention maybe putting up a candidate in the MPLS mayoral race.

Since we seem to be going over what has already happened...

Absolutely I hyperbolically called you "evil scooterist" in relation to a ride earlier this year that ended up at Betty's. I mentioned that we had two riders join us, one good and one evil. Someone asked whether the scooter or the rider was evil, and I replied "Good scooter, evil scooterist." You responded with a three-word Private Message, "Get over it." I've often wondered what you were telling me to get over.

After talking it over in the Skooter Du 6 meetings, the rally committee decided that your poor riding ability as demonstrated during many group rides over the past few years was a danger to the other riders on Skooter Du, we informed you that while you would be welcome to register and attend events, you would not be allowed on the group rides. On Saturday you showed up at Scooterville in your iron-on t-shirt that said "EVIL SCOOTERIST CLUB". Then on Sunday morning, you lied about someone inviting you on the ride, you showed off a can of military-grade mace, the implied threat rather clear. You told us that it was "illegal" for us to keep you from public streets, and that you were going to force your way onto the ride no matter what we said. Egan ended up hanging back and keeping an eye on you for the entire ride.

I guess that the only thing that remains is one question:

Why do you not respond to the many comments from many people about your poor riding skills? This is a very welcoming club, and all you have to do is accept and admit the fact that you have a problem and attempt to remedy it. Instead, all you do is bring up a piece of hyperbole from three months ago.

Wait, I lied, there's another question:

By the way, you mention four members of the "evil scooterist club", yet your shirt is the only one we've seen. Who else is a member of your new clique, eh?

On a more serious note Jeremy, you wondered why I would want to ride with you guys. You asked the same question at the Skooter Du.
You just don't get it. You and this cadre of 5 or 6 others consider yourself to be the "Powers that Be". I was told this directly by one of you. It is just weird and pathetic. This isn't a club in the sense of, let's say, the Elks Club or the Rotary Club. There are no dues. no elected president, vice president, or other officials, no club house, no monthly meetings where Robert's Rules of Order are followed. It is just a loose collection of individuals with a common interest and an internet chat board. I am not saying that it is not a club, because one could argue that it still is, but it is way on the other end of the spectrum of organization than, again let's say, an Elks Club.
The point I was making by riding on the Skooter Du Sunday ride was this: You guys aren't the "club". You are part of the club, but you aren't the whole club. I didn't ride on the Sunday ride of last summers Skooter Du to ride with you guys, but I rode because I was invited to ride along by another fellow rider, was encouraged by others to ride, and wanted to simply and in the most direct manner point out to you in the cadre, the self appointed "powers that be", that you don't control the city streets. Anyone can ride on the city streets. I will admit, I did not enjoy the ride. It was no fun for me, and I mentioned this to people at the time, but I did it to make my point. If you get a parade permit and have a police escort you can control the city streets, otherwise, just let it go.
Maybe the term scooternazi is a bit strong. Scooter police is probably more accurate. Go ahead and protect yourself. Be the scooterpolice, Jeremy. I don't really care what you think of me. I have seen the "powers that be" cruelly turn on Becky when she asked some questions about the Skooter Du last summer. Some one else posted last July (or maybe early Aug). that the Minn Max club was unwilling to help out in an organized manner with the Skooter Du last summer because they had been "poked in the eye" too many times by the Regulars. Maybe some of you "powers that be" have imagined too much power in your heads. See you out riding.

OK time to stop shitting all over this thread. The rule of group rides is that the organizer has final say over who comes. Period. If you guys want to argue the finer points of this take it to the general forum. Please.

Thank you.
