My deepest apologies to everyone in the group... I'm pretty sure all
this snow is my fault. You see, it was SO nice on Friday and
Staurday... and I had to work both days... that I thought I would get
a couple of scooters running on Sunday. Yup, out of winter storeage
and ready for the road. My Stella and my wife's Vino 125 both got "de-
winterized" on Sunday. I rode the Stella and the Vino
around the Lake Phalen area of St. Paul Sunday afternoon and just
naturally assumed that the "bad" weather would pass by the Twin
Cities (as has happened so often this year).

This morning I shoveled TWICE by 6:30 and it took me two hours to get
from St. Paul to Eagan.

All this because I got my scooters running on Sunday.

I am absolutely certain that had I been lazy and let the scoots sit
for one more weekend, we'd all be enjoying 45 degree weather right
now.

Again, sorry.

Dave

You'd think we balance out. I left mine in the garage under the cover. I snowblowed this morning and still got to downtown Mpls in 50 minutes from Shoreview, via my "make a move" scooter route (stayed off the freeway).

Have a safe trip home.

you'll have to blame me also. I got my scoot out of storage on Wed and rode everyday since (until today). Was riding just a few hours before it started raining yesterday. I had a nice ride up Mpls side of the river, by the new Guthrie, down Washington ave, then First Ave and kinda zigzaged through the streets to home. A little on the chilly side but still worth it!

Hmmm, maybe I was the one who threw the mix off. I suppose everyone else was keeping the teeter-totter right in balance and I jumped on one end and dropped that side.

So how many of y'all had scooters on the road pre-Sunday? How many still in storeage?

I've been riding off and on since the Swap Meet. The new job is prime scootering distance/route from my house. Basically, whenever I can get the scooter out of my garage (35 degree "driveway"), I ride her around.

this is storage.

what a horrible scooter parent...
the worst part of it is, is that it was clean and running better than it had in months on friday!!!

It's not my fault; I've been riding all winter. Yesterday and today have *not* been good riding though. If it doesn't snow any more, it will probably be good for riding again by Thursday or Friday.

If only I had sponsors and could write a blog about my winter riding...

Say, did you also get the Fly out of storage. If so is it running well? Mine has 150 miles on it now and is running well. Had it out a couple of times so the snow is my fault too. I also washed my car on Friday.

DH gave up on that Fly and traded it in for the 2006 model (still in Dragon Red!).
He has yet to pick it up from Motoprimo yet. He says he plans on doing that on April 1. He's a wuss when it comes to cold weather. I think I manage to ride at least 2 months longer than he does!

I'm sure he'll have better luck with this one!

Alright, Dh FINALLY got his new Fly on Fri!

THIS ONE IS ACUTALLY WORKING!! We rode out to Park Tavern after I got off of work yesterday. He never made it that far on the first FLY.

I took it out for a bit when we got home. What a nice ride!

I took the motorcycle permit test on Fri. Passed at 97%! Now Dh needs to take it and we can both get signed up for an instruction course. Of course, if he takes too long getting his permit, I'll have to leave him behind.

I'm signed up for April 26 and 29,30 AM, Would be nice to have 3 scooterists there. Would get my wife to go but she threatened me already if I mention her riding one more time.

that would be fun! but Dh works M-F days and I work evenings and weekends. My 5 year old is only in half day kindergarten so that shoots me down for weekdays.
We are going to have to either take the class separetly or arrange for child care well ahead of time. I hope we can get into a class soon. I'm going to call on Tues if Dh passes his permit tomorrow.

Are you taking the class at Henn Tech out in Eden Prairie there? Are you going to use your Fly or one of their cycles they provide?

I think for the beginning course you have to use the motorcycles they provide. Since I'd never driven a motorcycle before, it was fun to learn on one.

It's a good class; I took it last spring at Eden Prairie, and learned a lot.
