I'll post the dates in the Events Section.

Marshalltown Iowa has a nice little track where they have an open track day for all 2 wheeled bikes a couple times a month. Would be cool to get people out there and give it a try. No racing, unless you want too. It's a good way to learn your bike since everyone is going the same way and should be paying attention to what they are doing. Unless you start to push it or do somehting stupid there really isn't reason to dump your bike. They don't require full protection, just jacket, boots, gloves, though a hole suit would be smrt. Your bike shouldn't leak (too much) and it helps if the brakes work.

I do have an extra and maybe an extra bike if anyone is interested.

Pick me, pick me! I need to get something running first though, and less leaky.

Yeah holes in your suit and bike make you much faster.

It's fun to make a crappy old bike do This

Has anyone looked into doing a track day at the Dakota Tech track? MUCH closer.
However, Marshalltown DOES have one of the best Maid Rites (loose meat sandwiches) in the Midwest. Mmmmmm.

I'm not sure I like the loose meat references so close to the no pants discussion.

That sounds like a job for Kevin! Stephen and I did it once a long time ago, then they said they weren't going to allow motorcycles anymore. But I've recently heard they are doing it again. I don't know who is charge or when they do it.

What place has the maid rites?

I'm on it. Our BMW club did one last year and we have another lined up for this year.

This one: http://www.maidrite.com/

I just ate there on the 11th. Had to bring a couple extra home. Just remember: it's pickles, onions and mustard--don't even try to ask for ketchup or you be dealing with the often surly waitstaff. Oh, and the record for Maid Rites consumed in one sitting: 13. I do not know if that person was wearing pants or not.

How much was it for the club? If enough people went in I'd totally be up for it.

No ketchup No deal. Iowa seems a little behind in the web design department.

As opposed to everything else that they're World Leaders of? It's freakin' Iowa! But they do have Maid Rites....

I've sent out a couple of emails concerning the Dakota facility, and I'll post the details here. I may set up a poll to gauge interest. If there's only a couple of us that are definitely doing it, I might be able to get us into our club's track day. I don't remember the price, but it wasn't really that much per person. And everyone must wear pants.
