OK, so this is new and interesting; has anyone had a Vespa that kick starts great cold but then makes you sweat and swear once its warmed up.

Anyone had this happen?

I know, I'll probably have to actually get it fixed, but I thought a small fishing expedition might be worth while.

that happens to me as well--just ask Nate & Lisa who have push started me scooter many a time.
I don't know what it is but it makes me not want to stop off anywhere once I get going. unless I have Lisa or Nate with me, that is. :D

wow! another Amy! we have quite the collection!

Amy Irene, Amy Marie, Amy Lee and now Amy Noel (but I'm guessing your middle name isn't Noel)? just a few dozen more Amys and we'll catch up to the Nates.

You probably need a new ignition coil. Very simple repair and a relatively inexpensive part. Almost no matter what kind of vespa you have get the ducati coil for intended for p series scooters. Much much more reliable.

Try turning the fuel off a few blocks before you get to your destination. You may be flooding.

I used to have the same problem with my Lambretta and this helps alot, and actually I usually run it until just before it dies.

Actua;;y it is--I don't like Christmas that much, but was born 2 weeks before. My parents didn't know much about French and gave me the boy name--Ah well, so it is.

As for all the ideas I appreciate them. I'll start with turning to gas off early, and then take on more complicated tasks.

Yeah start easy and work your way up. The carb could use a rebuild too, this is a decent explanation
