Hi all,

I'm new to this board. I was wondering if anybody else was riding in to the rally from Wisconsin? I'll be riding from Eau Claire if anyone is interested in meeting up.

Yes 2 of us will be driving up on Friday.
Not sure on time we will be in your area.
We are taking HWY 10
I'm thinking some time midday.
Can let you know more after next Saturday.

Great,

You say you are driving. Are you going to take 10 in all the way to St. Paul or get on 94 at Osseo? How fast is traffic on 10 generally?

I will be on a Kymco 250cc,
Tom will be on a 500cc
I was planning on taking 10 all the way, but if you know a better way we can take that. HWY 10 around here is 65mph.
Would like to off 94 if we can.

Marty,

I'm not sure that my stock stella will keep up with you guys. However, it looks like I will be renting a van anyway. I'll PM you my number. Please do give me a call.

We can always take back roads from there.
If you know the way.

I will be leaving Duluth early Friday morning on a Stella. I am taking the backroads throught WI to come into the cities from the East. If the timing is good we could meet and travel the last leg into the cities. I will also be leaving the Rally Sunday after breakfast to ride the 190 miles back home.

Jason and Tom
Have you gone to this rally in the past?
If so, where is a good place for all of use to meet on the east side of town Or in Wisconsin on the border some place?
Jason if you have a cell phone I can call you when we get to the east end of town.
Tom is that your home phone that you gave me?
Do you have a cell phone also?
If both of you want I can call you the night before.
I have free long distance on my cell phone.
Let me know.
Ride safe

Just moved here (Duluth, MN) about a year ago and not that familiar with the Metro area. I am using the WI route that was used for the (Duluth Blister Run), looks very senic. I am open to meeting on the east side of town or the west side of WI for that matter.

I must say I am more excited about the ride down there than I am about the Rally.

I do have a cell phone. I am not sure about the quality of my coverage between Duluth and St. Paul, but I will have it with me.

Marty and Jason,

No, I have not been to this rally before. (Last year I just had the lambretta and it was not even close to running.) I think my wife is going to come along too and there is no way her honda metropolitan is going to work even on the country roads. As a result I will be renting a van to transport the scoots. There might also be another guy that I work with with us on a reflex.

As for a place to meet up there is a nice little rest stop in Hudson,WI just this side of the border but really anyplace in Hudson would work. I am pretty familar with the area and could suggest something else if anybody is interested.

Marty, Yes, that's my home number. (i don't have a cell phone.) I'll try to check this board tomorow to see what you all think.

Jason and Tom
I do not think we want to get on I-94.
I know that 10 is more of a drive for you.
That may be a better road for use to take if we are moving slower.
Let me know your thought.
Tom W. and I can both take I-94 if we need to.
But smaller scooter may not want to.
Jason what do you think?
Where are you staying when we get there?
Tom W. and I are staying here.
Days Inn
1964 University Ave W
St Paul, MN 55104
(651) 645-8681
$30 a night less then the other place.
Only about 4 miles down the road.
Thoughts?
Ride safe

Marty and Jason,

O.K., my wife has decided that she is NOT going to go to the rally. As a result I am going to ride to the cities. There are plenty of country roads that will get us to the cities from here with the exception of getting over the St. Croix. There are only three bridges that are practical. The northernmost at Stillwater is a litle bridge -- nice and slow, but a long way out of the way for Marty and myself. The second is I-94 fast and not at all scooter friendly. The third is highway 10, still fast but less so than I-94 but way out of the way for Jason.

Any thoughts or opinions?
