Penty of fun, met tons of people, rode around a lot....etc.

We made it back about an hour and a half ago - Egan is still someplace in Iowa.

We saw dmarquis on Saturday briefly at the gymkahna, but didn't see him on any of the rides. He had a LONG trip out there I think.

I'm still out here in CO- riding in Fort Collins. Hot as haidies but fun. The ride to Red Rocks was great. Quite a climb up Lookout Mountain. Tons of switchbacks and a great view. I think the two-stroke smoke killed off a couple cyclists out on their Sunday hill climb. There was even a group of people on modified big wheels flying down the road and a parachute glider.

Dave did the Red Rocks ride early so he could head home Sunday morning. HE MADE IT OUT- I HOPE HE MADE IT HOME.

Hi ya all,

I made it back around 10 pm... What a long ass pounding ride! It was so hot that I had to take a break about every 50 miles or so.... No major issues really. However, my headlight glass fell off in the middle of BFE Nebraska in the dark exposing my halogen light bulb to many, many, bugs. They were horrible! It was raing bugs at 53 mph....

I managed to go 2123 miles RT wide open throttle. Can you believe it? It was also 100F - 102F every day... The kick starter got pretty hot, almost too hot to touch. I keeped her pretty rich and juicy and went through 3 plugs and about a gallon of oil. I filled the oil tank to the top of the neck before I left and took 3 qts of oil. I still have about a 1/4 of a qt left. Also had to fill up many, many times. So many I didn't count them.. Changed the gear oil in Denver, and unlike some other nasty people, I collected it in a cup and made sure not to left stuff around, unlike someother attendees.

2 days there with a overnight in Grand Island NE and the same coming back.

My Stella, toture tested, ass approved.

Dave
I survived.

Congrats! Did you meet anyone who rode from a greater distance?

So Dave, will we see you tonight at the TNR? Or do you even want to see your scoot any more?

Nope not 1 person rode as far as I did, that I know of..... THat is what a scooter is for, to be ridden.... I saw a lot of nice vespars, but not to many nice ones being ridden more than a couple of miles. :-(

Good job Dave! But I think there were 2-4 people that rode a bit further, or atleast were reconized at the banquet for doing it (there were several over 1,000 and 1 at 2,000 I think). Not trying to diss your great effort.

OH I should add that I managed 53ish real world mph via gps. THat's about 60 indicated on the speedo. I carried a 30 pound back pack on the back rack and a 2 gallon gas can on the front rack with the gps mounted on top by bungees and a small soft sided cooler on the back part of the seat with cold waters.

That's cool. I bugged out after eating at the baquet. I wanted to get to bed and the music seemed to be like it was going to loud.....

Thanks! I am glad I made it home last night and didn't ride in today. The rain would have made it cooler, but prolly more scary on some of the slick surface roads. Oh and my back tire is pretty much bald.
