The weather better cooperate or I'm gonna have to put the hurt on the storm gods.

(Grr... fierce. That's me. Grr.)

;)

I plan on being there.

Eh, I need to watch them while they attend to their girl business- otherwise nothing will get done. :) And then while they're doting, I can attend to the business of changing out the tube/tire on my bike, so I can stop riding on the spare. That'd be the real reason I'm not riding right now. Vintage bikes = cool. Vintage tires on vintage bikes = scary.

I plan on being there. I think we need to show this town that the scooter scene is not dead. It has just been kicked in the ass by the nasty weather. Today looks reasonable. Lets ride!

I'm not too good for a first Sunday ride, but I have a real nasty summer cold that has kept me down for the last couple of days. Have a good ride and hope to see ya at the third Sunday ride.

2005 Stats – for those of you keeping track…
Weather Gods 23
Scooteriste – 0

We gave it the old college try today. Leaving Pizza Luce’ it was warm. I even heard the word “hot” thrown about. I thought I saw sunburn starting to pop through on some pasty white faces as we swilled some cold beverages. We felt poised to make a statement. Well, okay we wanted to ride at any rate.

We headed for some new airport tunnels at MSP. Seemed like a reasonably safe distance to go to not get wet. Right??

Well, after seeing the thunderheads close in around us after hitting our destination, it went downhill quickly. What had actually been an almost enjoyable afternoon weather wise turned into weekend day number 23 (or so) for the year of rain...

We tried. Hope everyone made it back safe and not too soaked.

Grant

Was worth the dampening at the end just to have learned about those tunnels!

Thanks Grant!

It was fun. Adding to the joy, I had a glorious opportunity on my way home to unleash righteously-indignant insults at a Mercedes who decided to make a last-second, jackrabbit left turn, right into my path.

Who says our rides are boring? Not me, for sure.

Loved the tunnel run, Grant. Thanks to all who braved the fickleness of the storm gods for being there today.

BTW - I should have thrown the following post to this area. I'll get it straight next time.

You can see one of the roads kinda ends before and after cutting across a runway, and then there is another at the end of the grey block in the middle.

You have to look in sat view, as the roads are not in google maps. Which I'm going to start saying is some kind of conspiracy.

If you follow the road from the 77 frontage road on the east, through the two tunnels you end up at a cul de sac that's pretty much right in the middle of the runways. Quite cool for watching planes.
