I don't necessarily think it's a bad idea to move it back to 1PM or something.

But no matter when you hold it, somebody's always going to be late. :)

that is too damn far! I vote next year all rally events begin/end at either Mannings or the Sportsman's.

(0.1 and 0.2 mi from M/T, respectively)

Funny how everyone here EXCEPT for moses completely missed my point.

It's not about distance, it's about starting time. I just want a couple more hours of sleep on Saturday AM that's all. I don't want to plan the rally, I don't want to criticize the current regime, I don't mind riding to get to events, I just want to sleep a little more.

In pursuit of that goal I suggested that the ride start later and maybe be moved to a more central location. The only reason I suggest moving it is so I can sleep longer. Mostly starting later would help me and all the other drunks who stay up late on Friday night.

Damn you guys need to chill out!

well, it sounded as if it were about both. and we can ALL give (& take) a little ragging every now & then!

9/10am *IS* painfully early though... and I say this as someone who RAN the rally--using the same painfully early start times-- AND as someone who plays host to at least some of the (crazy party animal) out-of-towners each year.

There's a give & take on everything, though. a later start time makes it less likely to have any break between the day & evening activities... which I also like to have...

Everyone except for moses and nate. Don't forget me!
I said move it back to 1.

But now people aren't going to be too hungover to make it, they're just going to be too drunk.

How about move it up to 7. then you don't need to go home at all. just use the 5 hrs. from bar close to breakfast to have a nice ride.

I just want to sleep in on a Saturday is all. Is that so wrong?

I suppose we could throw in some water boarding to go along with the sleep deprivation for the complete Gitmo experience. Once my spirit is broken I usually stop bitching...

To all who I forgot to include with moses I apologise, you know me though, post first, ask questions later. Sorry though

some of us old guys at the rally would like to start at sun up.
Because we are up and going at that time of the morning.
But we know what life is all about and just go with the flow.
My thoughts.

That is not a bad idea.

At my dream rally there would be a combo sunrise up-all-night-drunk/old guy ride.

I would have to hire someone to be there with a video camera to capture the ensuing hilarity as I would be sound asleep.
