I don't think that an 8 inch fork will allow a 10 inch front end. The most common thing that I read is to get a sprint fork.
I've got engine parts, so I'll see how that goes this weekend. I had played around with an idea of trying to stick with an 8" rear, but I think that I'd have to do something with the gearing on the GT motor. I think that 8" scooters are cool, but the super front end is an odd duck. I think that complete 10" forks are $129 at ASC.
After I get through the motor, I'll have to see if the body is salvagable. It's straight, but it has rust. But I've seen worse on the farm, welders can do amazing things : ) I'm hoping to strip it and drop it off in St. Cloud for repair.
My goal is to build a Sunday rider, a 125 SP (spare parts). This is doing it the hard way, but what the hell - it's about the journey.
I think it would be fun to build a fake model. All I'd have to do was work up a way to adjust the script on the back of the fender. "S.P. 125"
I could just see folks standing around saying, "Didn't you know, that was a rare model only sold in Canada" It's almost believable... Maybe I could get some sort of Manufactured in Mexico sticker for it.
