I'm assuming the inactivity here means that most of you minnescootians are out riding everyday. So, what scooter are you riding? Is it yours? Going to work? Getting out of town? Getting speeding tickets? Any plans to ride to rallies?
Or are you, like me, still working on your bike, getting it ready for summer? What's the skinny? Faster? Shinier? New paint? Parts? Exhausts? From where? Any good deals? Quality parts or crap?
Please keep comments scooter related, 'cause aren't you sick of politics, links to lame websites, and whining? |

I have a 1971 Bajaj 150 (jet black). I usually get stuff off ebay, haven't really needed anything for it. I added turn signals to the bike, they look pretty good, they don't look like they were thrown on. I pretty much don't ride it, now that I think about it, I have been thinking about selling and focusing my time on my Scion xB. |

Besides someone's Mom, I'm riding a maroon P200.
Additions this year include new grips, bar end weights, and a new rear tire.
I'm hoping to add a front rack and a couple more mirrors to it. Today I replaced the rear tube--thanks to a nail in the road. I plan to keep it running to the best of my (limited) ability.
Rides: as many TNR's as time will allow, probably two or three trips to Duluth, weekend rides and daily scoomuting. I will be at the RMB rally and possibly the Madison rally. If something sounds like fun, I'll probably ride to it.
That's all I got for now.

Yeah, one of these days those Indian bearings are going to shit the bed on me and I'll be putting in the Italian ones. Maybe I'll do it preemptively this summer. The bottom end has over 8k miles on it, and 5k miles on my DR top end. |

Did you buy the one off Craigslist? Didn't it come with an Allstate?

I'm mostly riding my series 2 now that it's up and running. I ride everyday rain or shine to work and around town on errands.
I'm still working on carb adjustments. It's a deanspeed 190, GP big bore exhaust/ with a 24mm mikuni/K&N. Right now it has a stock pilot jet (#15 I think), stock needle in the center position and a #155 main jet. This seems to be right at at idle and past half throttle. I'm going to be playing around with the needle and pilot jet this weekend.
Of course to do this I'll have to get some riding in. But I'm willing to make the sacrifice.
I'm planning to ride to as many rallies this year as I can. (I'll be out of the country for almost all of June.)

Besides riding most of the mothers of the members of this board. I also sometimes (read very rarely) ride my allstate/p200/ld/ type thing around lake harriet and then home to drink beer and talk shit to myself and post stupid remarks on the internets. All in all I'm a rather shitty scooterist but I have the ability, albeit very sloppily, to rebuilt an engine and talk shit. Both of which have earned me both friend and foe in the scooter world. Mostly foe. So I put this out there to the public, who's up for naked scooter jousting? No automatics as that would be too easy and tend not to involve as much blood.

2002 Bajaj and a Plymouth Minivan.
Minivan has 151k on it, keeping it running so that I can give it to my 15 year old to drive as I'm keeping the Bajaj for myself.
Building a flux capacitor for the Bajaj so that I can go back and collect all of the GS's and SS180's for myself. |
