While scooting for 10+ minutes or more, my right thumb goes numb. I don't think that I'm gripping too tight. Would gloves help? If I let my arm hang down for a few seconds the numbness goes away....of course I slow down....
oddly enough it may be caused because your grips are too soft. too much padding tends to let the bones of your palms, the parts designed to carry weight sink in and this puts pressure on the areas where your nerves run causing numbness. just a thought i'm guessing not a heart attack as that is usually the left side that goes numb but who knows on a modern scoot it could be different.

Health News Flash: Modern scooter riders have different heart attack symptoms than vintage scooter riders. Modern scooter riders go numb on the other side of the body. Scooter riders are weird that way, they can't agree on anything.
