Need to change the Stella's rear shoes, and I don't have a socket big enough for the rear hub nut. I don't want to buy the wrong size socket - what size is it? I was thinking it was a 24mm, but not sure where I got that idea. Anybody know?
Also, is it threaded normally, or reverse-threaded? I'm thinking it should be the normal thread, but it would suck to bear down with a socket wrench only to discover I'm tightening it...
Thanks! |

Pretty sure it's 22mm, swingarm is 24mm, i think. Just buy an impact, it makes it so much easier. Or have someone stand on the rear brake pedal, it's not too easy to press the pedal and loosen the nut at the same time. |

Okay, thanks. I'll just get both sizes - good to have the swingarm socket too. |

Turns out on the Stella the hub nut is 24mm. No worries, as I got both and it turned out to be an easy job. Man those Piaggio brakes shoes are a lot better than the LML ones. My LML shoes never felt as good as these Piaggios, even the day I rode the thing home with 6 miles on it. That, along with a new front Sebac shock, makes it feel like a different bike. The Italian parts are adding up... |

Not sure, I'll have to check. BTW, it appears that the LML drum is out of round... |
