so I put a sito-plus exhaust on the et4 bout 3 years ago, and love it considering all my highway-mobilin. now the problem is lately its sounds like someone put a bucket of screws in there and it rattles to beat hell at certain speeds.
the exhaust has seemed to rust prematurely so I'm wondering if something broke loose in there. so what exactly is in there? any suggestions on a new pipe when needed?
Probably a baffle of some sort came loose, not too uncommon. I think sito is italian for rust. If you don't mind changing it every few years that one is alright, also check out Leo Vinci Touring, maybe, brooke will know better than I.
If you wouldn't ride it so much it wouldn't rust so fast you know...

Right on! If you got three years out of a Sito exhaust, you're way ahead of the curve. Mine's a year and a half old and looks like total shit - still hasn't rusted through at least. Some people claim to have to do yearly replacements in salty climates. At least they're cheap. And they produce that cool homicidal popcorn-popper sound.
Four stroke exhausts are baffled much differently than the 2 strokes. Back in the day, Derrick and I would band saw 2 stroke exhausts apart to see what they looked like. They're way different than 4 strokes.
We get 4 stroke 150 mufflers with the loud/rattle sound coming in around 8000 km or so. But not all of them. We had a Kymco 250 @ 18000km and the muffler is fine. That was 2 years ago and it's still ticking.
