OOooooooo........sorry for that. New guy trying to be funny. It won't happen again, promise.

Actual question should be - What is the outside diameter of the average scoot muffler?

New guy here. No scooter :o( Shopping for one :o) Promise to not be funny, anymore.

LOL

OK, when you see a guy out on the street with tape measure next to your scoot..........you'll know why.

Seriously, what's an average outside diameter?

That is like asking what the average color of a flower is. They are all different shapes and sizes. Most vintage exhausts aren't even round.

OK, I found an aftermarket exhaust pipe tip or extension on the Scooterworks website. There are no specifications listed for ID or OD. A call to Scooterworks yeilded about as much information as I have gotten from this posting. I have a different "mechanical contraption" with a small exhaust pipe which I would like to find a chrome tip/extension for. I do not want to order a twenty dollar exhaust tip and find out later that it won't fit. I didn't think that this question would be so difficult to answer!?!?!?
Now............what is the going rate for the outside diameter of your average Vespa exhaust pipe?? 3/4"?, 7/8"?, 1"?, 1 1/8" What?
Derrick, Do you have another Goggomobil T400 Sedan hiding out there in Tonka Bay? If so, I would be interested in it!
Thanks in advance for anything other than nonsense answers. (I like nonsense as much as anybody, but, if I can't get some sort of answer here, where would you suggest that I ask it???)

It varies by model. But don't blame us for you not being forthcoming with what information you actually wanted. The exhaust as a whole has many different diameters. The final tail pipe section would have been more specific and yielded an appropriate answer. Given now that you've been slightly more specific I can confidently say, it depends. There are many different vespa models so it's hard to say. It varies from about 1.5 to 2.5cm. Typically those cheap chrome embelishments have a set screw to clamp down on the exhaust so it can fit a range. Others slip on to a specific model so knowing the part in question may help.
