Do take it easy putting back on, it's easy to warp the carb esp. if you're using a ratchet. |

If I don't have an air leak I try my hardest not to remove the carb as I could be asking for one when I re-install it. If I've never taken a particular carb off before, I lap it with valve-lapping compound and a sheet of glass (or some 600 grit sandpaper and glass). That's just my own insurance policy. |

It took me several tries, but I finally got it running right. Many thanks to all!

Lather, rinse, repeat. Over and over and over. Whatever the hell was in there, it took quite a few blasts of carb cleaner and compressed air to finally free it. I did not remove the carb. And the fact that you're mom kept calling my cell for a late night booty call didn't help things any.
Ran beautifully to and from the Fair yesterday. It's idling a touch high, so I need to back that down. Should be running perfect in time for the Luce ride on Sunday.
Now to tackle that front brake!

If it's idling a bit high, the unknown debris was probably there for a while (someone just adjusted the idle to compensate for the lack of fuel), just building up like the yellow blanket Egan's teeth. |

There's the love!
I did fiddle with the idle initially. I just have to bring it down a bit.
